Jessica Miller Wins Louise Troxell Award

Jessica Miller, a graduating senior with majors in African Languages and Literature and Biology, has earned the Louise Troxell award.  Miller was specifically commended for her record of academic excellence and contributions to campus and the larger community through her service to Cardiac on Campus and Wingra Clinic in Madison and beyond.  She will receive $1,000.

Miller was also selected to participate in the MENAR Fellowship Program beginning this fall.

About the award: In 1956 Mrs. Louise Troxell retired as Dean of Women, a position she held for a quarter of a century.  At her retirement, the Louise Troxell Award was established to honor Dean Troxell’s years of outstanding leadership and devotion to the cause of women on our campus.  The award is for an outstanding woman whose qualifications include intellectual ability and curiosity, good citizenship, appreciation of the world outside herself and interest in participating in its affairs.

Congratulations!
