We’re excited to announce that Professor Ainehi Edoro will be joining our faculty in Fall 2018.
Edoro is the founder and Editor of Brittle Paper, a leading online platform dedicated to African writing and literary culture. She received her doctorate from Duke University. In her research, she studies the form, theory, and history of the African novel with the objective of defining how the African novel has helped reinvent the novel as a global form.
Her writings on African literature and the global literary scene have been published on The Guardian, Chimurenga Chronic, Africa is a Country, OkayAfrica and Norway’s Dagsavisen.
In her global literatures courses, Edoro teaches the theory and history of the novel from the standpoint of provincializing the European origins of the form. She also teaches courses aimed at exploring and codifying the evolution of literary forms within digital and social media.
In the last year, she’s presented lectures about her work at Yale University, Northwestern University, School of the Art Institute Chicago, University of Wisconsin, Madison, and most recently at the Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, Norway.
