The second presentation in our Professional Development series features Professor Sam England who asks, “How do we teach broad understandings of culture in academic institutions that promote very focused fields of study?” This workshop will review one technique for teaching literature as a large-scale, permeable culture. The group will then explore similar approaches in language teaching and will solicit each other’s teaching strategies for accomplishing the goal of expanding from a set discipline to a cultural pedagogical template.
