Omotola Okunlola

Omotola Okunlola is a doctoral candidate in the department of African Cultural Studies. She earned her BA and MA degrees in English from Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, respectively. In 2018, she was a Fulbright Scholar at the African Cultural Studies department. Her research interests straddle African and Black feminisms, popular culture, literary studies, and gender studies. Her dissertation explores the intersection of feminism and gendered bodies in African women’s literary and filmic productions.
