Fall 2024
Reginold Royston
3 credits
R 4:00 PM - 5:55 PM
A seminar class with close-reading, analysis, and class discussion. Students will lead some aspects of most seminars. The texts will be anti/decolonial in nature and focus, for instance, on the key writings of Pan-Africanists such as Kwame Nkrumah, Amilcar Cabral, and contemporary writers such as Msia Clark, Felwine Sarr (Afrotopia), Cajetan Iheka (Ecomedia) and Olúfẹ́mi Táíwò. Even as a 900-level graduate seminar, the course format of discussion and close-reading/guided-analysis is essential for learning how to do grad school/grad courses. Final Paper and midterm assessments.
