Algerian Arabic (AA) is a dialect of Arabic of the Maghreb dialect group including Moroccan, Tunisian, and Libyan. This course will enable you to communicate effectively using AA and acquire basic skills in the areas of listening, speaking, writing, and reading with focus on the former two since AA is not commonly used in formal communication.

Upon completing this course, you should be able to perform real-life functions such as greeting people, introducing yourself and other people; asking for and giving information; ordering food as well as be able to understand and use common idiomatic expressions. The topics covered will gradually lead you to understand, use and speak AA for future work, travel and study in the Maghreb.
