Résistance: Trois Générations de Lutte Anticoloniale au Cameroun, a Cameroonian women’s political history graphic novel on which Jacqueline-Bethel Mougoué consulted, is now available in English as of this past week. The new 2024 English version can be ordered from Initiative Perspektivwechsel, commissioner of the novel and organization based in Germany and Cameroon that seeks to disseminate knowledge about politics in Africa.
The graphic novel’s original edition was published in French and German in 2019 and includes the graphic history of the Anlu Rebellion, a women’s uprising that took place in 1950s British-ruled Cameroon.
This project came to fruition with two Cameroonian illustrators, Franky Mindja and Daniel Assako.
