PhD student Angeline Peterson was recognized as a Transfer Champion during National Transfer Student Week.
The student who nominated Angeline wrote:
“Whether Angeline has known about my being a transfer student or not, I wanted to recognize her as being an outstanding and supportive TA/Instructor. Her patience, kindness, and understanding has been an integral component of my learning experience in a very challenging course. She is very organized and responsive while simultaneously providing a fun and interactive course. Angeline is a wonderful example of the instructors that make the transfer experience at UW-Madison both positive and successful. ”
UW’s Transfer Transition Program has noted that Transfer Champions can make a world of difference for a student. This type of support can increase the likelihood that students will persist to graduation and have a higher sense of wellbeing.
UW Transfers bring so many diverse life experiences, critical knowledge, rich cultural traditions, and unique perspectives to UW-Madison. Transfer students are vital to our mission at UW-Madison. They make an impact on this place and the communities they come from everyday; they make the WI Idea happen.
Thank you, Angeline, for your valuable contributions!
