Ph.D. students Astou Gueye and Vincent Ogoti have been chosen to receive African Studies Program Travel Awards to support doctoral fieldwork.
Gueye will conduct research in Senegal on the institution of jonge.
Ogoti will conduct research in Kenya in the areas of theater and drama.
Awards are given to support UW-Madison graduate students working on a master’s thesis or Ph.D. dissertation pertaining to Africa.
